Advisory Board Members Receive National Acclaim
November 2002 -- The Vice Chairman for Technology for Liquidmetal Technologies, Prof. William Johnson, and the Chairman of Liquidmetal Technologies Advisory Board, Dr. Neil Paton, have both received distinguished recognition recently within the engineering field.
Prof. Johnson has been elected as a Fellow of TMS, The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society. International in its membership and activities, the professional organization
encompasses the entire range of materials and engineering, from minerals processing and
primary metals production to basic research and the advanced application of materials.
Prof. Johnson was elevated to the Class of Fellow for outstanding contributions to the practice of metallurgical science and technology. William Johnson is also a Fellow
of ASM International.
Dr. Neil Paton was inducted into the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) during their Annual Meeting. The NAE, a private nongovernmental institution formed as a sister organization to the National Academy of Sciences, has the primary mission to provide independent advice to the federal government on questions of engineering and technology.
Election to the National Academy of Engineering is one of the highest professional distinctions that can be accorded an engineer. Dr. Paton has more than 40 years of experience in advanced materials for aerospace applications.
